Story Time Sessions

  • Age Group: Open to students aged 4 years - 7 years

  • 1:1 or “Family-and-Me” style (parent, grandparent, etc. welcome to join)

  • Duration: 30 minutes

  • Price: $30 per session

  • Location: Virtual

  • Focus: Critical thinking and comprehension

K - 8 Reading/Writing Sessions:

  • Age Group: 5 years to 12 years

  • 1:1 (private lessons)

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Price: $50 per session

  • Location: Virtual

  • Focus: Dependent on what the student needs

College Prep:

  • Age Group: 17 years to 18 years

  • 1:1 (private lessons)

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Price: $65 per session

  • Location: Virtual

  • Focus: Brainstorming, writing, editing, and proof-reading essays for college or trade school applications

  • Learn from the comfort of home

  • Work with someone who is passionate about literacy

  • Receive individualized instruction

  • Michigan State Alumni (Go Green!)

  • Graduated from the MSU Teacher Prep program (ranked #1 in the nation for over 30 years)

  • B.A. Elementary Education with a focus in Language Arts and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language

  • B.A. English

  • Honors College & Dean’s List

  • Valid Michigan Standard Teaching License (K-5 All Subjects)

  • Taught virtually at the Institute of Reading Development (worked with 500+ Pre-K - 8th grade students across the country)

  • Awarded the 2020 Carlisle-Pickering Scholarship by the MSU English Department

FAQ

  • Whether this is your first time working with a tutor, or you’ve had a bad experience in the past, I highly recommend booking a 15-minute intro call. During this time, we can talk about what you’re looking for in a tutor, and I can share more about my approach to tutoring. I want both of us to have a great experience, so if I don’t think that I’m the best fit for your needs, I’ll be honest with you!

  • Ideally, I would love to meet once a week on a regular basis. If you would like to meet more than once a week, or on a casual basis, I’d be happy to discuss that with you. The pricing is per session, so your timeline for starting, pausing, or no longer working with me is completely up to you.

  • This is largely dependent on where you are located. Generally speaking, I plan to stick to virtual lessons.

  • We will meet using Google Meet. The link will be emailed to you via FWTRTutoring@gmail.com.

  • This will be largely dependent on the age of your student as well as what we will be working on. You will not need to purchase any materials to work together.
